2006: Communications Team of the Year

This award is given to a team that has really delivered on their objectives and who have helped enhance the perception of communications in the NHS.

Jonathan Cross, Head of Communications, Sarah Hewitt, Press & PR Manager and Marie Horan, Administrative Assistant have worked together as the Communications Team for Nottingham Primary Care Trust for the last two and a half years.

In that time, they have successfully organised events large and small, averted potential media crises while maximising positive opportunities, planned and co-ordinated visits from the Prime Minister, Health Ministers and DH staff, motivated PCT staff through effective communication and engagement and led on a range of significant NHS intiatives across the wider health and social care community.

Among the highlights, the Team have raised the profile of the PCT through their excellent media handling skills, improved the quality of the corporate material, redesigned and relauched the PCT website and staff newsletter and have shown commitment to their individual roles and to the team.
