How to apply

The AHC welcomes new members. Membership is open to anyone working in healthcare communications, public engagement and marketing for the NHS and for health and social care.

You can also join if you work freelance or for a consultancy, provided that a substantial part (at least 50%) of your work is for NHS, or social care and health clients.

You can also join if you are a student studying for a relevant communications, media or marketing/PR course - see section entitled ëJoining as a studentí.

Cost

The cost of AHC membership is £60.00 a year for individual membership or £200.00 for group membership (4-10 people joining from the same organisation) and £25.00 a year as a student. Cheques should be made payable to The Association of Healthcare Communicators. If you wish to be invoiced, please provide a PO/invoice number in the ëAbout youí section.

Group Membership

Group membership allows four people or more to join together from the same organisation for the cost of £200 per year. Please make sure that you apply together and clearly mark the application form 'group membership'. By paying membership fees on behalf of your organisation, your colleagues will gain equal access to all the benefits of AHC membership. Although you join as a group, you will receive your own individual log in code to access the Members' Area of the AHC website and copies of the quarterly newsletter ahc news will be sent to one nominated person.

Please be aware that 'Full membership' applies to named individuals within the group and is not transferable.

Subscription

You can join the AHC at any time of the year. However, there are two dates in the year when your membership renewal becomes due - 1st April and 1st October. You will automatically be sent a renewal reminder in the month closest to when you joined. There are no pro-rata arrangements.

Student membership is awarded on a case by case basis and proof is required, ie a photocopy of NUS/University card or signed letter from your course tutor.

Data protection

The information on this form will be held by the AHC while you remain a member. It is used by the Association to maintain its membership lists.
