Principal Aims
The AHC is determined to raise standards of communications practice throughout the NHS and throughout social care and health.
The AHC aims to:
- Promote professional, proactive communications
- Influence the national communications agenda
- Link members so that they can share information and good practice
- Build awareness and understanding of key communications issues affecting health and social care
- Represent and support members
- Encourage open partnership working with other communications networks and relevant organisations.
Our Objectives
- To raise awareness of the role and importance of communications in health and social care
- To influence the national communications agenda
- To improve services for members
- To increase membership
- To raise the AHC profile
- To collaborate with other communications networks and forge new partnerships
- To sustain long-term financial viability.
Current activities
Our current programme of activity includes:
- An annual conference and communications awards
- A regular quarterly newsletter
- Maintaining the AHC website
- Recruiting members
- Varied training programme at competitive rates
- Ad hoc projects, eg judging PR Week awards.
